Examples of Uses for Instant Communities
Any CS member can create a new community, and instantly have a place for discussing Computer Society related topics. Examples of communities we hope to see active here include:
• Discussion of emerging technologies ...
• Conference participants, following up on particular tracks or topics
• Standards Working Groups, discussing particular aspects of a standard
• Published papers, providing for follow-up discussion of the concepts raised
• Focused topic discussions, often pointing to the papers, conferences, webinars and other resources useful to understand the topic
• Chapter groups (student, or section) providing for coordination of events, speakers, etc.
• Section or regional contests or support for pre-college events
In short -- a chance to connect with a set of your colleagues, ones you know, and others you may not know, world wide, to initiate your discussions.
